For Pokemon.<div>Seems like Pokemon wave invades everywhere at the moment. Pokemon go is not allowed in our house since my kids are too young to play but the T.V program show it 7 days a week. So, they are quite obsessed by Pikachu and his Pokemon friends.</div><div>My plan is to sew Pokemon inspired outfit for both of my girl. I started with the little one. She is an active girl and I think romper would suit her. Who doesn't like to see the little todd running around in cute romper? </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-bw3bxLopSII/V913kzDR8xI/AAAAAAAATJs/psuwJpJYlfE/s640/blogger-image-341213621.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-bw3bxLopSII/V913kzDR8xI/AAAAAAAATJs/psuwJpJYlfE/s640/blogger-image-341213621.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>I can't find the right yellow fabric for romper, so I up-cycled itfrom xxl polo t-shirt. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-mMMLETFZLKU/V913mHbYyfI/AAAAAAAATJw/H689eNFTotc/s640/blogger-image-1579616217.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-mMMLETFZLKU/V913mHbYyfI/AAAAAAAATJw/H689eNFTotc/s640/blogger-image-1579616217.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>The romper is made with Magil&Lil romper pattern from shwin designs. All participants will sew up something base on free patterns. And I was lucky enough to be one of participant, hooray!<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-whvThH55smU/VN9u6OjcHwI/AAAAAAAAMMI/spmmpVAzR6M/s1600/FebruaryFreeforAllContributors.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-whvThH55smU/VN9u6OjcHwI/AAAAAAAAMMI/spmmpVAzR6M/s1600/FebruaryFreeforAllContributors.jpg" height="400" width="342"></a></div>
<br>
<div>
My creations are the variety of simple circle skirts which base on one FREE pattern and another one tutorial. They are very EASY and fast to make. As each skirt took 10-30 minutes! After having a baby, EASY is my first rule of sewing!<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HD2asDqO0FM/VN-BMP7YuPI/AAAAAAAAMMY/L-EF6v_ke_g/s1600/Untitled-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HD2asDqO0FM/VN-BMP7YuPI/AAAAAAAAMMY/L-EF6v_ke_g/s1600/Untitled-1.jpg" height="640" width="457"></a></div>
For me, the circle skirts have 2 types. One with elastic waistband and one without. The first freebie is the famous <a href="http://www.danamadeit.com/2008/07/tutorial-the-circle-skirt.html" style="background-color: white;" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">circle skirt tutorial by MADE</span></a> which is the one with elastic band. I bet that you've ever heard about it or even pin it to your board. But did you make it yet??? I made skirts base on this tutorial many times, it's awesome! Come on, let's sew up some for the girl or for yourself.<br>
<br>
This circle skirt made from 6 panels and applique. It's a first skirt that I made since 2 years ago.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OAa5uRIWOZw/VN-Jf9tDyVI/AAAAAAAAMNA/yZ4dZyk5m3c/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OAa5uRIWOZw/VN-Jf9tDyVI/AAAAAAAAMNA/yZ4dZyk5m3c/s1600/1.jpg" height="640" width="456"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This circle skirt is made from knit and has a shorts attached for modesty. It super twirly and my girl love it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tESO8gpHKro/VN-KWjtbvpI/AAAAAAAAMNI/fSI1iS1_A3w/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tESO8gpHKro/VN-KWjtbvpI/AAAAAAAAMNI/fSI1iS1_A3w/s1600/2.jpg"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br></div>
Dana also offers <span style="color: blue;"><a href="http://www.danamadeit.com/2012/04/celebrate-baby-tutorial-and-pattern-little-baby-circle-skirt.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">pattern of circle skirt for little baby size 0-3</span></a>.</span> I've adjusted it a bit for my almost 6 months old. Super cute!<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-94UbwpLaNHE/VN-N-bTN37I/AAAAAAAAMNU/SVfMrenifUo/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-94UbwpLaNHE/VN-N-bTN37I/AAAAAAAAMNU/SVfMrenifUo/s1600/3.jpg"></a></div>
Tips: The center circle which left from making skirt can use to make a matching head band for your baby too!<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-B5BDXwQsb2E/VN-O0Wjbm0I/AAAAAAAAMNg/Z5ugfC1nGco/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-B5BDXwQsb2E/VN-O0Wjbm0I/AAAAAAAAMNg/Z5ugfC1nGco/s1600/4.jpg"></a></div>
You can even make the circle skirt in your size with the same tutorial. I did it twice, one made from up-cycled tablecloth and another one made from pre-ruffled fabric. (What you see here is BEFORE I gave a birth to the second child. Fortunately, both skirts have elastic waist band and can accommodate my mummy tummy)<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OYWOtcZH8hs/VN-QhGnIh1I/AAAAAAAAMNs/QGFjBwN99xM/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OYWOtcZH8hs/VN-QhGnIh1I/AAAAAAAAMNs/QGFjBwN99xM/s1600/5.jpg"></a></div>
The second style of circle skirt is the one without elastic band. So, it involves zipper...that's not so hard, trust me! Anyway in case you insist to make it with elastic waistband, this pattern also has instructions for make it. </div><div>This pattern called Trio of circle skirts from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/mytreasuredheirlooms" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">My Treasured Heirlooms</span></a>. It's a PDF pattern range from size 12m to 12 years including doll size!!! Annastasia, the designer of My Treasure Heirloom is so generous to offer this pattern for free. You've just to join her sewing group page on Facebook : <a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/656044857778019/" target="_blank"><span style="color: blue;">Mytreasuredheirlooms</span></a> to get this pattern (hint: not only this pattern is free on her page). <br>
It is called trio because you can make the circle skirt in 3 ways; full circle, half circle and quarter circle. All with pattern pieces to print and tape together. If you don't want to calculate, this pattern is just right for you!<br>
This skirt made from full circle pattern with Ikea fabric. It's the favorite skirt of my girl at a moment.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DJ7_i6Q4a1Q/VN-Wuf_XkFI/AAAAAAAAMN8/3LhQgaDqc14/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-DJ7_i6Q4a1Q/VN-Wuf_XkFI/AAAAAAAAMN8/3LhQgaDqc14/s1600/6.jpg"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NcYuhrovcD8/VN-YOlzJz6I/AAAAAAAAMOI/E7ErpKGsR7g/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NcYuhrovcD8/VN-YOlzJz6I/AAAAAAAAMOI/E7ErpKGsR7g/s1600/7.jpg"></a></div>
<br>
<br>
I also made a half circle skirt. It's not provide that much twirly factor but it's nice on it's own style. I recommend you follow the instructions by select true size according to given measurement. Do not go over size or you may need the suspenders as my girl needs<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Xs9RMKjclrc/VN-Z5H9l41I/AAAAAAAAMOU/Arj1WXS7BAs/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Xs9RMKjclrc/VN-Z5H9l41I/AAAAAAAAMOU/Arj1WXS7BAs/s1600/8.jpg"></a></div>
<br></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k1ov_9a8ty4/VN-aUqdqQAI/AAAAAAAAMOc/ghvO_N-rAgA/s1600/9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k1ov_9a8ty4/VN-aUqdqQAI/AAAAAAAAMOc/ghvO_N-rAgA/s1600/9.jpg"></a></div>
<br>
See? Circle skirt is fun and easy. Select your beautiful fabric and have fun with these free pattern/tutorial.<br>

You may wonder (me too at first) what's the Pimp??? Well, amazing Lydia, the designer behind LittleKiwisCloset encourages us to alter the pattern and create our own style. I think this pimp out of the box is not easy because the pattern itself give you a lot and lot and lot of options already.</div>

This time I made the matchy romper for both of my girl. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-r5DTEYTnPBQ/VFueeNTOwvI/AAAAAAAAMHU/YaOccgcZEWg/s640/blogger-image-418133822.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-r5DTEYTnPBQ/VFueeNTOwvI/AAAAAAAAMHU/YaOccgcZEWg/s640/blogger-image-418133822.jpg"></a></div><br></div>

The big sissy got the retro style romper. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-M_HFc4kzgS8/VFt0LVUwGmI/AAAAAAAAMHE/LpLwkwQuU70/s640/blogger-image--251172568.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-M_HFc4kzgS8/VFt0LVUwGmI/AAAAAAAAMHE/LpLwkwQuU70/s640/blogger-image--251172568.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div>The pattern gives you the ruffle neck option in size 0-4 yrs. The little sissy's romper is in the coordinate printed fabrics. Actually, the pattern fits is just right but this romper seems to be loose because I made her the bigger size. She is growing like a weed lately and I want the longer use of this cutie.</div>

I tried to make it to be a high waist rompet but since I sew it in bigger size the waist elastic sits up on her natural waist instead. I may get the looks I want in the next 2 month, I guess. ;)</div>

I did the bias hem at the flutter sleeves and love them that way. I plan to make the short sleeves top with flutter in the next romper I make. I can imagine many many of this romper come out with bits of difference here and there. </div>

What I love about this pattern is the tons of option provided. You've got 5 sleeves styles to go with 4 bottom styles to mix up and create your own looks. They also come in the wide size range from nb to 12 yrs. With one pattern, I can make the romper for both of my girls and make them in variety styles. What's not to love about these!</div>

Today I have done many tiny outfits for my soon to be born baby girl. They are all simple project as you can imagine, what a little baby will wear during her first couple months of life.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Diapers cover: must have item! I followed the tutorial by <a href="http://www.danamadeit.com/2010/08/the-perfect-diaper-cover-tutorial-and-free-pattern.html" target="_blank">MADE</a>. It turned out so cute!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8KwmotWkeOU/U9DomJFN5EI/AAAAAAAALoA/tDxizL0tKgA/s640/blogger-image-726576369.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-8KwmotWkeOU/U9DomJFN5EI/AAAAAAAALoA/tDxizL0tKgA/s1600/blogger-image-726576369.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Bloomers : <a href="http://whimsycouturesewingpatterns.com/product/no-serger-bloomers" target="_blank">pattern by Whimsycouture</a>. This pattern is fast to sew.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-N4FcdA20haY/U9DokR2CSVI/AAAAAAAALn4/bUxr6aUlNHM/s640/blogger-image-1634351343.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-N4FcdA20haY/U9DokR2CSVI/AAAAAAAALn4/bUxr6aUlNHM/s640/blogger-image-1634351343.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Kimono top : I use Japanese pattern from this book.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gQiY4Q4Bdno/U9HRYc2UABI/AAAAAAAALoY/0mcNsMPfHqw/s1600/NEOBK-1081566.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gQiY4Q4Bdno/U9HRYc2UABI/AAAAAAAALoY/0mcNsMPfHqw/s1600/NEOBK-1081566.jpg" height="320" width="256" /></a></div>
<br />
Even I can't understand any sentence in the book. The diagrams are detailed enought to guide me through it was done.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Cwan5Ljva9g/U9DooWo9tYI/AAAAAAAALoI/ZUnVhAXN_SU/s640/blogger-image-1623213578.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Cwan5Ljva9g/U9DooWo9tYI/AAAAAAAALoI/ZUnVhAXN_SU/s640/blogger-image-1623213578.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I was happy with the result so far. I hope to make a bit more and wish my little one will not arrive before her schedule.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

I'm not sure but these are what I did for my up coming little girl during this kids clothes week.<br />
<br />
First is the snuggler swaddler which I made from free pattern of <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Lotta-Jansdotters-Simple-Sewing-Baby/dp/0811865487" target="_blank">Lotta Jansdotter</a>. This pattern is one of project in her <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Lotta-Jansdotters-Simple-Sewing-Baby/dp/0811865487" target="_blank">book</a>. But she also offer this pattern for free download <a href="http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2009/05/craft_pattern_podcast_snuggler.html?CMP=OTC-5JF307375954" target="_blank">here</a>. The original version suits for cooler weather so, I only made it with double gauze and muslin to go along with our always summer weather.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q3TVq7B8Vx4/U884HyuTO6I/AAAAAAAALnU/Td3r87AQquk/s1600/Fotor072311189.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Q3TVq7B8Vx4/U884HyuTO6I/AAAAAAAALnU/Td3r87AQquk/s1600/Fotor072311189.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Another is very simple. I bought the super soft double gauze from <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/MissMatatabi" target="_blank">Miss Matatabi shop</a> and fall in love with them! I can't made a decision to cut fabric to pieces. End up is I use the whole yard to make a blanket. Just sew another layer of muslin with that double gauze. Easy as it sounds but I'm sure that I will get the good use of this blanket.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e_eoGqGFOys/U885XNG0ESI/AAAAAAAALng/2K68Lguf_qQ/s1600/Fotor0723111946.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-e_eoGqGFOys/U885XNG0ESI/AAAAAAAALng/2K68Lguf_qQ/s1600/Fotor0723111946.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
What do you make during this season! Happy sewing.<br />

I took an advantage from my location to start KCW summer 2014 earlier than your guys in U.S. or Europe. Here is what I done for this season...<br>
<br>
The Tiered dress, made from kid art-like linen. Highly twirlability!<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OKbrytu2D3w/U8yjr-jPb2I/AAAAAAAALmI/CWbs443Tdq4/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-OKbrytu2D3w/U8yjr-jPb2I/AAAAAAAALmI/CWbs443Tdq4/s1600/1.jpg"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Tiered kid art-like dress</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
As you may know that this summer KCW has a theme call "Kid ART" and my girl coincidence selected this linen which looks like her own art pieces. We both happy together.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--qqEvXz4FAo/U8ykZ5kUTWI/AAAAAAAALmQ/FPxwuxTXwFA/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--qqEvXz4FAo/U8ykZ5kUTWI/AAAAAAAALmQ/FPxwuxTXwFA/s1600/2.jpg"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Pattern from Happy homemade, Sew Chic Kids</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br>
The pattern is from Happy homemade Sew Chic Kids, pattern F : Tiered Dress (same pattern also available in tiered top). It is easy to sew. I've changed hemming to flower bias and used the big ribbon to make a sling.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K2v3fZT-sZ0/U8yljanJQyI/AAAAAAAALmc/9nmPZ0A0yvk/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K2v3fZT-sZ0/U8yljanJQyI/AAAAAAAALmc/9nmPZ0A0yvk/s1600/3.jpg"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">It did pass the twirly test!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The girl love airily feeling of linen and the dress was pass her twirly test. Perfect for summer!<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uO-j0fj_oUk/U8ymHMy1OBI/AAAAAAAALmk/mdi0p7fbqP8/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uO-j0fj_oUk/U8ymHMy1OBI/AAAAAAAALmk/mdi0p7fbqP8/s1600/4.jpg"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Perfect for summer </td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I have to stop making dress for my 4 years girl and start to make something for my little kicker who is due in a next couple of week. But sewing for big girl is so fun!<br>

I plan to sew some basic summer outfits and swaddle blankets for my little one. What do you sew for your newborn? Is it possible to sew after you got the baby? I'm afraid that I will have no spare time to make anything, I'm never good at time management.<br>

I'm lucky enough to have an opportunity to join in this month <a href="http://www.francessuzanne.com/overview" target="_blank">FLIP</a> competition for the<a href="http://www.zonen09.com/products/charlie" target="_blank"> Zonen 09: Charlie</a>. Others competitors made the AWESOME works and I'm so thrilled to share my work together with those talented ladies! Anyway let's take a look and vote for your favorite at <a href="http://www.francessuzanne.com/2014/06/zonen-09-charlie-voting.html" target="_blank">France & Suzanne's blog</a> . Thank you in advance if you like and vote for me. :)<br />
<br />
Let's start the summer sewing!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MS1zMOrUM3M/U6Oq2PdkMRI/AAAAAAAALjQ/LfwFYjOvHh4/s1600/3a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MS1zMOrUM3M/U6Oq2PdkMRI/AAAAAAAALjQ/LfwFYjOvHh4/s1600/3a.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My FLIP creation : Charlie's angel romper</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The<a href="http://www.zonen09.com/products/charlie" target="_blank"> Zonen 09: Charlie</a> was voted by FLIP series fans (including me) to be a kick off for this summer. I love its collar at first sight and want to keep this element as is. My plan A was to make it a racer back dress with knit fabrics. Unfortunately after cutting fabrics to pieces, I'm not happy with the color combination from my limited knit stash. So, I went to plan B : make it with lovely woven fabrics.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XwHiH6qY8vw/U6OmIv60OLI/AAAAAAAALiI/2oIdBhEbVDI/s1600/13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XwHiH6qY8vw/U6OmIv60OLI/AAAAAAAALiI/2oIdBhEbVDI/s1600/13.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">From top to Romper (again!)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
With not much time left, I digged down into my fabric stash and found the left over fabric from <a href="http://anapprenticehousewife.blogspot.com/2013/06/my-flip-girlie-ruffles-bubble-shorts.html" target="_blank">my first post for FLIP' June last year</a>. What will suit for this entry than celebrating the first year anniversary of my blog with the same fabric.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g0n0i9BmTDo/U6OvjGxGtTI/AAAAAAAALjc/KjT8fecirAg/s1600/2a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-g0n0i9BmTDo/U6OvjGxGtTI/AAAAAAAALjc/KjT8fecirAg/s1600/2a.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The old-rose gingham which left from June's project last year</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The pattern is versatile and great to work with. What changes I have made are:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Using woven instead of knit</li>
<li>Adding the zipper on front bodice</li>
<li>Changing from top to romper</li>
<li>Cut the back bodice to be a racer back</li>
</ul>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VY6eRVOo8Ss/U6Owp85xPjI/AAAAAAAALjo/JTpj7YgtVLc/s1600/6a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VY6eRVOo8Ss/U6Owp85xPjI/AAAAAAAALjo/JTpj7YgtVLc/s1600/6a.jpg" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">What will suit for summer than the racer back design?</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Here is not only hot but a lot of raining lately but I can't wait any longer to take a picture. So, we went out after evening rain to took all these shots.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JMx9o-cvNBk/U6OxvJ_Y9kI/AAAAAAAALj8/XxiimWENtsk/s1600/4a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JMx9o-cvNBk/U6OxvJ_Y9kI/AAAAAAAALj8/XxiimWENtsk/s1600/4a.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The light is not perfect for taking photo (as well as my skill) but we managed to got some usable images. And the girl had huge fun playing in the park after the rain gone.<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Monkey girl</td></tr>

<br />
I glad that I've changed my mind and made her romper instead of the dress. She can play easier in this romper.<br />

Times came and gone so fast and then I've been blogging for 1 year. I started here with FLIP this pattern series, my first post ever. <tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My version : Chambray romper for the girl!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
Back to this month business, the pattern to be FLIP is Run around romper from The Cottage Mama. Have you ever made something from cottage mama's pattern? Following her instruction, Everything comes out so neat and beautiful. I have made two garments, the shortcake romper <a href="http://anapprenticehousewife.blogspot.com/2014/01/piglet-reversible-romper-for-sewalong.html" target="_blank">here</a> and the modified classic A-line<a href="http://anapprenticehousewife.blogspot.com/2014/04/strawberry-dress-for-spring-project-run.html" target="_blank"> here</a>. I've learn a lot from sewing those two patterns.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--NIuSylxNQY/U3zMoc2YI3I/AAAAAAAALfs/AB01ZxE6nB0/s1600/10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--NIuSylxNQY/U3zMoc2YI3I/AAAAAAAALfs/AB01ZxE6nB0/s1600/10.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Flip "the run around romper" pattern</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
This Run around romper pattern is available from size 6 month-6 year, which including my 4 and half years old size. But I want to make it in growing up looks with self-toilet ability. Here is what I have done to complete my missions.</div>
<div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c1qxgfT2uHk/U3zOBNmLAoI/AAAAAAAALf8/MvpSuaGOvSI/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c1qxgfT2uHk/U3zOBNmLAoI/AAAAAAAALf8/MvpSuaGOvSI/s1600/1.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Lace up the zipper and expose it on the romper front</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I closed both of the shoulder straps and added the exposed zipper at the front of romper instead. By attaching lace to the both side of the zipper and then follow tutorial for exposed zipper installation by <a href="http://glitterandwit.com/2013/07/tutorial-installing-an-exposed-zipper.html" target="_blank">Tasha Early's blog</a> here. Now my girl can take on and off the romper by herself easily.</div>
<div>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xPuw--CNNWk/U3zPTHqMrRI/AAAAAAAALgE/xeAZc8-sxMY/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xPuw--CNNWk/U3zPTHqMrRI/AAAAAAAALgE/xeAZc8-sxMY/s1600/2.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Butterfly lace on her back!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The butterfly lace has been attached to the back of romper. It has a see-through effect but you may not see it clearly through because the girl was wearing light blue cami inside the romper<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yLgzPhLUUM0/U3zQPZqlbbI/AAAAAAAALgM/t0PSQo9CxHQ/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yLgzPhLUUM0/U3zQPZqlbbI/AAAAAAAALgM/t0PSQo9CxHQ/s1600/5.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Girlie romper on the monkey girl</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
</div>
<div>
I was also down-sizing the pattern in every dimensions, lower the neck line, enlarge the arm holes and did change the hem shape. Do you think these changes made the romper looks grow up and girlier?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jcSX0Y-z1WM/U3zQvYNMdEI/AAAAAAAALgU/LVlpdQ5bFZE/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-jcSX0Y-z1WM/U3zQvYNMdEI/AAAAAAAALgU/LVlpdQ5bFZE/s1600/6.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I'm so happy with the result and took a lot of photo of the girl at her favorite tree.(sorry for load of photo. ;) </div>
<div>
The girl is also happy as she can run and climb and play (and manage her toilet time) freely with her new romper.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bMwirZ0yO-c/U3zRLRuderI/AAAAAAAALgc/LWrRRK5sOSI/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-bMwirZ0yO-c/U3zRLRuderI/AAAAAAAALgc/LWrRRK5sOSI/s1600/4.jpg" height="640" width="640" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Don't forget to see a wonderful creation from this month FLIP competition and the sew-along entries <a href="http://www.francessuzanne.com/2014/04/may-flip-pattern-sew-along-prizes.html" target="_blank">here</a>. They are all breath taking!<br />

Here's the result.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qqRfJ1wAyi4/U0jB6Mv4LCI/AAAAAAAALcE/TVnvtr3gRLU/s1600/image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qqRfJ1wAyi4/U0jB6Mv4LCI/AAAAAAAALcE/TVnvtr3gRLU/s1600/image.jpeg" height="640" width="480" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Twirly jelly rolls skirt on the bed head model</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I let the girl select which jelly rolls she want for her skirt. She selected the polka dot mixed one and asked for skirt that she can twirl in.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jJk64vjV20c/U0jBxpzMI5I/AAAAAAAALbw/j75ssGs-M-o/s1600/image%25281%2529.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-jJk64vjV20c/U0jBxpzMI5I/AAAAAAAALbw/j75ssGs-M-o/s1600/image%25281%2529.jpeg" height="400" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">It did pass the twirlability test</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The last tier of the skirt made from 5 strips of fabric. I've connected all short end of 5 strips together and run the very long roll on my little ruffle foot. Then attached it with the next tier, running on ruffle foot and so on and so on. The top tier was measurement of my girl's hip plus extra inches for comfortable. The last step is to let the girl select elastic band and attached it to the skirt. (I didn't hem the skirt, just used the pinking sheers. Fact is, handle the pinking sheers along the 220" length (44"x 5's) of skirt's hem is not easy as I thought) <div>
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tu96dtzsYlE/U0jBza2NJdI/AAAAAAAALb4/alcj_Fnzsqo/s1600/image%25282%2529.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-tu96dtzsYlE/U0jBza2NJdI/AAAAAAAALb4/alcj_Fnzsqo/s1600/image%25282%2529.jpeg" height="640" width="480" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">It's colorful, isn't it?</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div>
It's not difficult project, just a bit of time consuming and a lot of ruffles to handle. I would love to did more delicate hemming but too lazy. What do you do when you have to finished the twirly skirt hem without the serger? </div>

So I can make my version of coloring page dress for the girl.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b80RZFg8XGs/U0PC3vMGwoI/AAAAAAAALa8/SUSepC7_KoQ/s1600/a1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-b80RZFg8XGs/U0PC3vMGwoI/AAAAAAAALa8/SUSepC7_KoQ/s1600/a1.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My coloring dress from the Norah dress pattern</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
We trown in the coloring party. Each mommy made something from this fabric and let the kids color them. We have got some dresses, tops for girls and drawstring bags for boys. For my girl, I used <a href="https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/166485860/the-norah-dress-and-tunic-pdf-sewing?ref=shop_home_active" target="_blank">the Norah dress and Tunic pattern</a> which is the good frame for this project.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6BJjkz-LWrg/U0TYPdalkmI/AAAAAAAALbc/qBipF0aCw7g/s1600/a6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6BJjkz-LWrg/U0TYPdalkmI/AAAAAAAALbc/qBipF0aCw7g/s1600/a6.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Coloring party</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
My girl is more than happy with her work (others kid as well). All of them very proud of themselves, so do moms!<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-466De0sUjpI/U0PC3hrNYvI/AAAAAAAALbI/C_PEgF1129Q/s1600/a2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-466De0sUjpI/U0PC3hrNYvI/AAAAAAAALbI/C_PEgF1129Q/s1600/a2.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">So proud in her own color dress</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I took the photo of her in this dress after many times of laundry. The dress was get worn very often. You may notice the color was fade a bit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oN_kvbR_jdk/U0PC2Yf9BPI/AAAAAAAALa4/roeR2QB-V5s/s1600/a3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oN_kvbR_jdk/U0PC2Yf9BPI/AAAAAAAALa4/roeR2QB-V5s/s1600/a3.jpg" height="400" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
We plan to make another party in the near future, maybe the easy batik party. It would be nice if you can share the idea. We are during summer break. Any activity to entertain the kids would help the moms a lot.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We are embrace early summer and realize that the temperature may shoot up to over 40 degree this year. What I can do is sewing the new dresses and tops for my girl in my little sewing corner to make this summer more colorful. And my girl spend a lot of her times in our village's garden. Especialy on her beloved tree. Can we count this as her favorite place?<br>
<br>
I bought "Sew Classic Clothes for girl" the awesome book by <a href="https://thecottagemama.com/product/book/" target="_blank">Cottage Mama</a> for many months ago. And now I modified classic A-line with round yoke to be a bubble dress with round yoke. The dress was inspired by the strawberry, which I think very suit with this season.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NGuyF_OkO1I/Uz7jMaXX-_I/AAAAAAAALaA/5I5FUXtF0rA/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-NGuyF_OkO1I/Uz7jMaXX-_I/AAAAAAAALaA/5I5FUXtF0rA/s1600/1.jpg" height="400" width="400"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The strawberry bubble dress</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The book is great. I was so stumble to understand armhole instructions process at first. But once I got the idea, the result was came out so perfect. I love when the clothes I made have done so neat like this!<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8OGA0b7pBbM/Uz7jT-5F9vI/AAAAAAAALag/0wjolXr9TQ8/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8OGA0b7pBbM/Uz7jT-5F9vI/AAAAAAAALag/0wjolXr9TQ8/s1600/6.jpg" height="400" width="400"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Strawberry on the tree</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
I still made almost of the girl's dress in flare out or twirly style. Because she is a "full of energy type" girl. Narrow A-line skirt will forbid her from jumping and tree climbing which are her favorite activity.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_zQRi084eIY/Uz7jThHtdRI/AAAAAAAALac/72wJLQD69UM/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_zQRi084eIY/Uz7jThHtdRI/AAAAAAAALac/72wJLQD69UM/s1600/5.jpg" height="400" width="400"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
Daddy did comment that the dress may look like a watermelon dress instead of strawberry... but my intention in the first place is to make a strawberry dress. Even the nearly 40 degree temperature can not make me see it as a watermelon. (But I want one for sure, who wouldn't want a slice of watermelon in the hot day?)<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M0aqoVb7NXI/Uz7jVkiSNBI/AAAAAAAALao/qFiHs49FvCE/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M0aqoVb7NXI/Uz7jVkiSNBI/AAAAAAAALao/qFiHs49FvCE/s1600/7.jpg" height="400" width="400"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br></div>
I made it in size 4T. With the small figure of my girl, it still has roomy to grow in the dress which is perfect! And maybe my next project would be a watermelon inspired outfit. what do you think?<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div>
My blog seems to inactive lately since I had developed a deep relationship with dear toilet due to my morning sickness. However, the symptoms are gone! I have a reunion with my sewing machine and here is the result.</div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OKqMg3G3CBQ/UzTTjCnDioI/AAAAAAAALZg/Wi20M4_g_6o/s640/blogger-image-1767555494.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OKqMg3G3CBQ/UzTTjCnDioI/AAAAAAAALZg/Wi20M4_g_6o/s640/blogger-image-1767555494.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-MEJuUsZa5z8/UyssBWTZiTI/AAAAAAAALYY/ZRJYfgdSslc/s640/blogger-image--820570812.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-MEJuUsZa5z8/UyssBWTZiTI/AAAAAAAALYY/ZRJYfgdSslc/s640/blogger-image--820570812.jpg" /></a></div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The beach boatneck pattern is simple but classy. I love the neckline which wide and comfortable. I use my t-shirt as a material for this project.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-UrwsXTANe24/Uysr7y0o7JI/AAAAAAAALYA/9yDjQ9nHwtA/s640/blogger-image--65184147.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-UrwsXTANe24/Uysr7y0o7JI/AAAAAAAALYA/9yDjQ9nHwtA/s640/blogger-image--65184147.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The girl is so small that I cut the pattern one size smaller and used woven fabric to created a band at hem. The finished dress is nice but I didn't stop at that point.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-VnPIj8hCQWw/Uysr9hS4i2I/AAAAAAAALYI/DN1SraKMimE/s640/blogger-image-34344293.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-VnPIj8hCQWw/Uysr9hS4i2I/AAAAAAAALYI/DN1SraKMimE/s640/blogger-image-34344293.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
To give some fun, I let the girl did a freezer paper stencil for her own dress. This is my first stencil experience. Now I know why everyone love it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Rxw9dPuMmbI/Uysr_CvvCLI/AAAAAAAALYQ/SfJu-EAbx-w/s640/blogger-image--582660760.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Rxw9dPuMmbI/Uysr_CvvCLI/AAAAAAAALYQ/SfJu-EAbx-w/s640/blogger-image--582660760.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Now the girl not only happy but also pround of the dress that she was co-created with mom. This dress is sure to be worn a lot during this summer and go to the zoo as well.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-tacuRkzJCUM/Uysr56OGOHI/AAAAAAAALX4/VkE_Ly_oyDg/s640/blogger-image-736086675.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-tacuRkzJCUM/Uysr56OGOHI/AAAAAAAALX4/VkE_Ly_oyDg/s640/blogger-image-736086675.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Thank you for stopping by. I really love to hear your comment. Do you like the stencil? Or prefer the plain one at first?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

Week#3 of Project Run&Play's theme is Refashion Challenge, which I happy accepted :). I usually did refashion for my girl especially for the knit project because I can not easily find the place to buy knit here. Online stores now have a lot of pretty knits but the shipping cost to Thailand could cost me arms and legs. So, refashion is my best friend.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oW5eKmV48Rs/UuqYRau-LTI/AAAAAAAALV0/uGLecKHIezM/s1600/a8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-oW5eKmV48Rs/UuqYRau-LTI/AAAAAAAALV0/uGLecKHIezM/s1600/a8.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Refashion: Pippa peplum top & V-neck cardigan</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
This time, I made two tops for the girl. The first is a sweet <a href="http://seekatesew.bigcartel.com/product/girl-s-pippa-knit-peplum-top" target="_blank">Pippa peplum top from SeeKateSew</a> which I made from t-shirt size XL.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1u67tSK5c-o/UuqYGwHBWHI/AAAAAAAALVA/YkVywi3ljQE/s1600/a2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-1u67tSK5c-o/UuqYGwHBWHI/AAAAAAAALVA/YkVywi3ljQE/s1600/a2.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Refashion Pippa Peplum top</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I love how it turned out! It looks like something I would bought from store. Normally, the girl doesn't like to wear white-tee but with the girly skirt part + bow sequin + gold trim, this top can win her.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lTk0p4if4nA/UuqYLew7jnI/AAAAAAAALVU/9t-D5KbOunU/s1600/a4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-lTk0p4if4nA/UuqYLew7jnI/AAAAAAAALVU/9t-D5KbOunU/s1600/a4.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Girly twirly little skirt blown her mind</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I made the Pippa peplum in size 4T and it fits her perfectly. I'm sure this top will get worn very often.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T_fZHH9wCbQ/UuqYGn9Qw4I/AAAAAAAALU4/b39dfm6OnP8/s1600/a1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-T_fZHH9wCbQ/UuqYGn9Qw4I/AAAAAAAALU4/b39dfm6OnP8/s1600/a1.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My Pippa Peplum and the little bear</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br>
I've also made <a href="http://www.peekaboopatternshop.com/product/v-neck-cardigan-3-mos-12-years" target="_blank">the V-neck cardigan from Peek-a-boo</a> from my old cardigan. The winter has already gone from Bangkok and this cardi is expected to wear in air-condition room through the year. So, I made it in the bigger size to leave the room for growing up.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EvUt8kMrr6g/UuqYSegdUeI/AAAAAAAALV8/S6xVpd1WYh8/s1600/a9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EvUt8kMrr6g/UuqYSegdUeI/AAAAAAAALV8/S6xVpd1WYh8/s1600/a9.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Refashion V-neck cardigan</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I decorated my little v-neck cardigan with lace collar and trim. To get the girl's attention, I also selected the flowers buttons to suit her taste.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Gp1hqhLlJQY/UuqYHUOS-gI/AAAAAAAALVE/QXLxBD-qO08/s1600/a10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Gp1hqhLlJQY/UuqYHUOS-gI/AAAAAAAALVE/QXLxBD-qO08/s1600/a10.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Refashion V-neck cardigan with lace collar and trims.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
After we finished our photo shots. The girl was still wearing her new top to play around. I've got the true shot of her while she was playing. As much as she love girly details on her outfits, the girl still has little monkey attitude inside. Oh! I love this pat of her.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

This theme made me realize how long that I have not seen any movie. Think about my favorite one was come up with something like Lord of the ring, Star war or others 10 years ago-movies. Which I'm not sure the girl would happy with the outfit inspired by any of them or not.<br>
So, I designed to ask the girl which character she like most. Here the answer is from her favorite story, the pink little pig from 100 acre wood, PIGLET!<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dW5LIMtNy44/UuFDWsByjQI/AAAAAAAALS0/-GuqFYhNyTQ/s1600/a6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dW5LIMtNy44/UuFDWsByjQI/AAAAAAAALS0/-GuqFYhNyTQ/s1600/a6.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Cottage mama's Shortcake romper for Piglet</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
This piglet romper is made with <a href="http://thecottagemama.com/product/printed-shortcake-reversible-romper-and-dress-pattern/" target="_blank">The cottage mama Shortcake reversible romper</a> 's pattern. I thought silhouette of this romper would comply with piglet outfit.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B5RLFU21fgU/UuFFw_V6bVI/AAAAAAAALTA/V4SxX_xqzoU/s1600/a14.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-B5RLFU21fgU/UuFFw_V6bVI/AAAAAAAALTA/V4SxX_xqzoU/s1600/a14.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Do I look like Piglet?</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I want to make easy to go outfit which the girl can wear everyday not the special dress. So I didn't make Piglet costume. Just bring color and strips to give personality for this romper.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-z9ms30psrRw/UuFGxnPhMeI/AAAAAAAALTU/fW8AyH5KWms/s1600/a5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-z9ms30psrRw/UuFGxnPhMeI/AAAAAAAALTU/fW8AyH5KWms/s1600/a5.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger and me playing in the 100 acre wood...</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The girl was happy with her Piglet romper and I hope one day she will enjoy to go to the movie with me again! Her first experience with movie was when she went to planetarium with me... It was a bad experience for her since she was scream and believe that the comet will fallen to her head. (unfortunately the planetarium program was about the comet impact that day)<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zv1FoE6um-Q/UuFMlB5NNzI/AAAAAAAALTo/zRHIW8yHZ0k/s1600/a15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zv1FoE6um-Q/UuFMlB5NNzI/AAAAAAAALTo/zRHIW8yHZ0k/s1600/a15.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The pattern is intend to make as a reversible romper and I did another side in coordinate color with the cat applique at front.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Reversible shortcake romper</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ha4x-JF3KvI/UuH4gxN71iI/AAAAAAAALUg/ng2hL2exzfU/s1600/Untitled-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ha4x-JF3KvI/UuH4gxN71iI/AAAAAAAALUg/ng2hL2exzfU/s1600/Untitled-1.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Reversible Shortcake romper "Piglet and the cat"</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br>
I like this side with the applique but the girl prefers Piglet side. At least we both happy with the result.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0F7NKA0EGug/UuFOgsPPkUI/AAAAAAAALUE/dQbKFWYtpTA/s1600/a3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-0F7NKA0EGug/UuFOgsPPkUI/AAAAAAAALUE/dQbKFWYtpTA/s1600/a3.jpg" height="640" width="640"></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Revers side with strip and cat applique</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The only inconvenience about this romper is the girl can not go to toilet by herself. It needs adult supervise to take off or tide up the bow tide at the shoulder.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

This traditional spread through several East Asian and South East Asian countries including Thailand. The next year, 2014's sign is the horse. So in this last month of the year, you may find many gift and apparel presents the sign of this animal.<br />

I would keen to put my needle on the very stunning winter projects which pop around but the weather here is 33 degree Celsius... I would better sew another tee-shirt or sleeveless top for the girl and myself. But I really love to see all the winter outfits! Maybe one or two cardigans would practical for my girl. <br>
<br>
Well, I will stop moaning and start sharing my refahion projects as my intention. This is the <a href="http://www.peekaboopatternshop.com/product/hangout-hoodie-6-mos-10-years" target="_blank">Hangout hoodie from Peekaboo pattern shop</a> which I was done since Amy's sew-along in August and you can see some of hoodies <a href="http://www.naptimecrafters.com/2013_08_01_archive.html" target="_blank">featured here.</a> I didn't have a change to write about it on my blog till now and this is a good time to link it with <a href="http://francessuzanne.blogspot.com/2013/11/november-flip-this-pattern-sew-along.html" target="_blank">FLIP these pattern series of November.</a><br>

I used tee-shirt for the main part of Hoodie, added my leftover pre-ruffled fabrics, printed knit from my last project and ruffled trim to give the girly details at sleeves and the hood.<br>

I didn't alter main shape of the hangout hoodie much. Just did flare out a bit with the tunic length, lined up the hood and added ruffled trim. The pattern instructions are easy to follow. I've only little struck when try to finish the planket.(mostly because I didn't cut the fabric accurately)<br>

And I'm so glad that I can finished a dress from <a href="http://figgyspatterns.com/patterns/sunki/" target="_blank">Figgy's Sunki pattern</a> for October <a href="http://francessuzanne.blogspot.com/2013/10/october-flip-this-pattern-sew-along-and.html" target="_blank">Flip These pattern sewalong</a> in last minute (again). :)<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The velvet Sunki from Sunki dress pattern</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The pattern of this month, Sunki dress is not my normally choice to consider. Because from its look, I would think this pattern may too complicate for my beginner seam stress level. But my intention is to participate in every months of FLIP these pattern sewalong. So, I give it a try.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OnBH2_wrwac/UmlNDdnfjGI/AAAAAAAALH0/L3kXgSXN2aM/s1600/i.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-OnBH2_wrwac/UmlNDdnfjGI/AAAAAAAALH0/L3kXgSXN2aM/s640/i.jpg" width="480" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Sunki in tunic lenght</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
Apparently, this pattern is not that complicate as I thought. I faced a little trouble when tried to complete the 1st site of that curve pocket but with the helping from my dear seam ripper, it was done nicely. The 2nd pocket was smoothly finished without any issue. Learning curve, I would say.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cEHe09FebuA/UmlOpwk9BpI/AAAAAAAALIA/5Y5bDkSK3Zo/s1600/j.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cEHe09FebuA/UmlOpwk9BpI/AAAAAAAALIA/5Y5bDkSK3Zo/s640/j.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">My little alternation to the Sunki pattern</td></tr>

I keep it till the last day to start this project. Then, I want it so simple that I can made in a couple of hours. Knit is my fabric of choice but while I search through my fabric starch I found this lovely teddy bear printed stretchy velvet to work with instead. The red side panel was made from my old t-shirt.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HMfJgrJLmFc/UmlRg8-j6_I/AAAAAAAALIM/N41Ehr8Ehcw/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-HMfJgrJLmFc/UmlRg8-j6_I/AAAAAAAALIM/N41Ehr8Ehcw/s640/1.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
I did alter the Sunki a bit to ensure it can finished with stretchy materials. I didn't use the back zipper, made it sleeveless and finished the neck and arm holes with bias tape. I was also shorten the length and created the band at the bottom end instead of hemming.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V7gAhZa2mxA/UmlSysvUvFI/AAAAAAAALIY/gN9yVMg6O2g/s1600/b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-V7gAhZa2mxA/UmlSysvUvFI/AAAAAAAALIY/gN9yVMg6O2g/s640/b.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<br />
Look at my little model, can't help that she looks grumpy. I stole her time while she was playing outside with her friends to model these shots. She like the teddy bear printed on this tunic/dress but me, took too many shots was so annoying for her. She also refused to change her pants for photo shots and I let it went by as is.<br />

Finally, I did it through 4 weeks of PR&P sew-along. I can't believe I can done all 4 outfits in a month. This was very fun and a milestone for my sewing learning curve!<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9EGtuxzSmcs/Uk2jPMRlA1I/AAAAAAAALGI/g_-93kbN0N8/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9EGtuxzSmcs/Uk2jPMRlA1I/AAAAAAAALGI/g_-93kbN0N8/s640/2.jpg" width="640"></a></div>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br>
And the last week's theme is "Signatures style". This theme knocked me out. Since I'm just a newbie in sewing, it's not easy to identified which are my most preferred looks for the girl. <br>
<br>
As many ideas came and gone and I done nothing till Wednesday , I thought I have to make something that easy to finished and wearable.... here comes the Jumsuit, I Heart Jumpsuit.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l-kbon9fMFM/Uk2jQHZtovI/AAAAAAAALGU/xeL0L0FeiKE/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-l-kbon9fMFM/Uk2jQHZtovI/AAAAAAAALGU/xeL0L0FeiKE/s640/1.jpg" width="480"></a></div>
<br>
As an official member of Romper/Jumpsuit & Suspenders lover club. I decided to make another jumpsuit for my girl. I've just can't resist the cuteness of Romper/Jumpsuit & Suspenders on little girl.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Eb9X28jVeGs/Uk2jSCBciWI/AAAAAAAALGc/gO27IgWoNpA/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Eb9X28jVeGs/Uk2jSCBciWI/AAAAAAAALGc/gO27IgWoNpA/s640/3.jpg" width="640"></a></div>
<br>
This "Heart Jumpsuit" idea came to me since <a href="http://francessuzanne.blogspot.com/2013/09/september-flip-this-pattern-sew-along.html" target="_blank">FLIP sewalong on Sep.</a> I want to flip <a href="http://patternanthology.com/products/the-w-pants/" target="_blank">the W Pants from Alphabet collection</a> to jumpsuit but I have no time to do so.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-up5svZ_249Q/Uk2pPG1jytI/AAAAAAAALHI/ITmWSb9oKGw/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-up5svZ_249Q/Uk2pPG1jytI/AAAAAAAALHI/ITmWSb9oKGw/s640/4.jpg" width="640"></a></div>
<br>
This project was done on time without many details. I keep the design simple and clean since the main fabric is already stand out.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y9c0Ls_DFdY/Uk2jV5-HJAI/AAAAAAAALG0/j1GhxNmt3QY/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-y9c0Ls_DFdY/Uk2jV5-HJAI/AAAAAAAALG0/j1GhxNmt3QY/s640/5.jpg" width="640"></a></div>
<br>
The W Pants have a ton of options to select. But I've done nothing from that wonderful list even the belt loops was eliminated due to <strike>my laziness</strike> time constrain. But I keep the pockets to made my girl satisfied.<br>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7iYaJ9Ho9bI/Uk2jVmPkygI/AAAAAAAALGw/Hwi1VYC4khw/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7iYaJ9Ho9bI/Uk2jVmPkygI/AAAAAAAALGw/Hwi1VYC4khw/s640/6.jpg" width="480"></a></div>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I did add the elastics inside straps to make the suspenders like effect and ensure them stay on the shoulders.<br>
<br>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: small; text-align: start;">p.s. The girl was not in the good mood for photo shot... That why she has got a stomachache like facial expression. Can not imagine how she react when she is being tween. :)</span></td></tr>

<br>
So, this <a href="http://www.projectrunplay.com/" target="_blank">PR&P#7</a> was done and I'm sure to waiting for start doing these fun sewing experiences again on the next season. Don't forget to hop to the web to see wonderful work of the last round competition <a href="http://www.projectrunplay.com/2013/10/signature-style-its-time-to-vote.html" target="_blank">here</a> and blown away with a ton of breath taking creations from <a href="http://www.projectrunplay.com/2013/09/week-4-signature-style-week-and-sew.html" target="_blank">sew-along entries here</a><br>

<br />
The 3rd week of Project run&play go for the theme "Mad for Plaid"...<br />
<br />
Talking about someone who MAD for plaid, let's check my fabrics IN MY STASH.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K87h7dFTjgg/UkMWTd-K5ZI/AAAAAAAALFc/OUpwCU8zkpg/s1600/k.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K87h7dFTjgg/UkMWTd-K5ZI/AAAAAAAALFc/OUpwCU8zkpg/s640/k.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">A little collection of plaid from my sewing corner</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
You can guess that I have no need to buy fabric for this week. My problem is to select the RIGHT ONE to work with. So, I let the girl chooses for herself and we got the plaid with pink one.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: right;">
</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tNQfWjPl5O0/UkMVw8pck8I/AAAAAAAALEc/Z5syvRYxGjs/s1600/d.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-tNQfWjPl5O0/UkMVw8pck8I/AAAAAAAALEc/Z5syvRYxGjs/s640/d.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Plaid with her favorite color</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I want to learn and do some technique which I've never done before. After looking through my mom's sewing book, I thought I will taking hand smocking on the dress. I used very plain but cute pattern from <a href="http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E5%A5%B3%E3%81%AE%E5%AD%90%E3%81%AE%E3%81%8A%E3%81%97%E3%82%83%E3%82%8C%E6%9C%8D-%E8%8D%92%E6%9C%A8%E7%94%B1%E7%B4%80/dp/4529045269" target="_blank">this Japanese sewing pattern book.</a> The girl model is so lovely, look at those hair.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wc2zp--pmB8/UkMcZyHH__I/AAAAAAAALFo/X6IOvTIA9aQ/s1600/l.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wc2zp--pmB8/UkMcZyHH__I/AAAAAAAALFo/X6IOvTIA9aQ/s640/l.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">I flip this pattern to my hand smocking plaid dress</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I used the top part of this dress but changed the skirt part by adding hand smocking detail and lengthen it a bit. Hand smocking took me an age to finished. I'm not a fan for hand sewing and this smocking took so much time that I thought I have to submit this dress on the next season. Luckily! it was done on time.<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vC_Ch4mdPTg/UkMVy45TjhI/AAAAAAAALEs/79RYxY7KZAU/s1600/b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vC_Ch4mdPTg/UkMVy45TjhI/AAAAAAAALEs/79RYxY7KZAU/s640/b.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Hand smocking details, this technique called weaven basket smocking in mom's book.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The process was such a pain but the result was as a gain for me. I'm so happy with them that I even thought to learn others smocking technique in the near future.<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q7LLSsbP86A/UkMVypKtr4I/AAAAAAAALEo/uml0zX-7jFE/s1600/a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q7LLSsbP86A/UkMVypKtr4I/AAAAAAAALEo/uml0zX-7jFE/s640/a.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The finish work was such a reward for me.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
In case any of you want to know how to make this smocking please let me know. I will try to make a tutorial if someone interested (and have a lot of time to do so)<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dzgHKDboq9Y/UkMV8IBYjNI/AAAAAAAALE0/OCpdLV8JDFc/s1600/e.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dzgHKDboq9Y/UkMV8IBYjNI/AAAAAAAALE0/OCpdLV8JDFc/s640/e.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The dress has buttons closure along the back</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
As we don't normally have fall or winter here this dress can wear all around the year. I plan to pair it with cardi and legging if the weather colder.<br />
